The two faces of a fashion session
During the 6 hour session was made jewelry set images for further processing. The subject of the photos was a jewelry company ID.FOR.FUN. www.idforfun.com
With me in the session was attended by
jewelry designers : Bo Rek & Magdalena Szadkowska,
model : Ola Talacha,
makeup : Magdalena Szadkowska.
The idea was to prepare a set of pictures to two independent choices and editing. We want to show how much influence on the final result is the selection and final editing of photos with a single session. When shooting not we created two different paths photo. My choice and my editing called ADVERTISING. Parallel choice and editing has made Bo Rek. We call it THE ART. Each of us had any choice of frames.
You know me, or you can read about me on this site. My architectural education and over 20 years in the advertising imprints mark on my editing.
Bo Rek is younger then me. He is:
Born in Lodz in 1983.
In 2009 he graduated from the Faculty of Graphics and Painting at the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. Graduated with honors in Laboratory Technician of rotogravure printmaking. Since 2010. is employed in the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz as an assistant at the Sculpture Studio.
In 2012. ID.FOR.FUN founded the project group under whose banner works in the field of sculpture, object, contemporary jewelery and small commercial forms of putting the idea, form and function as the three pillars of its activities.
Retouching experience gained while working in the commercial photographic studio where he carried out digital photographs of products and edit them in Adobe Photoshop.
ID.FOR.FUN projects are characterized by a synthesis of minimalist form, geometry, simplicity, while maintaining a light and solid variability in time and space. When you edit photos guided by a compact composition of the whole cycle by bringing most of them to close shots fore in the foreground as a product in a minimalist environment.
You can see his point of view.
Showing the raw material and the editing of two independent editors:
First THE ART – retouch Bo Rek
Next ADVERTISING – retouch Andrzej Bochenski
Sometimes there is the dilemma of what to do. Repeat session or rescue it in post-production.
Beautiful model and a bad photographer. Excellent equipment and very badly set light. Terrible time to take a picture. Do not grasped the right moment and shape. The session is about to end, and lack of time to replay.
The eternal dilemma - repeat the session or use the post-postproduction ?
I have an easier task. From over 20 years I save pictures by other photographers, so I can manage my too.
Another problem that I encounter, how far can I go in this job?

Straight photo or digital manipulation
It belongs from founder of photography competition. Read carefully rules. If you didn't find any restriction. You can do what you want, “catch-as-catch-can”. Remember that photography should remain a photograph and not computer graphics.
Strictly stick to the theme of the competition. Top image is not related to the theme of the competition will be rejected. Think about what images will be sent the most and do something different. Watch as many pictures in this topic, and as soon forget about them. Your photo must be in the topic different from all. Most important thing is to make it technically perfect. Never copy the ideas of other photographers. The jury saw all the good pictures published. Be creative and perfect.
Do not be discouraged
How many people have so many ratings. In 2013, I sent the photo to a local competition in Lodz, Poland ("winter memories"; "bird on wire"; "sundown"). Simultaneously, I sent the same photo to Hasselblad Masters 2014 (the same theme of competition). From local competition I received a reply "this year we received excellent work of more than 400 authors. Unfortunately, your pictures do not eligible to the finals". From Hasselblad I got info “this year we received excellent work of more than 40000 authors. Your pictures are in the finals.
Good luck !!!

Dear friends in photography,
I get a lot of questions in e-mails. I decided to write a blog with answers to frequently asked questions. Most frequently question: "how to win a photo contest?"
"Take a good picture" is not exhaustive. The answer is multifaceted and subsequent entries will try to respond according my knowledge.
At the beginning about equipment.
No matter how much equipment we will use to comply with pictures. A good rule - less equipment , more talent. Professional camera gives you more options but restricts freedom and fun. The best camera is the one that you know well. During the trip to Capri my new Canon 5D Mk III refused to cooperate. I remained with the iPhone. The result you can see in my portfolio - "Azzurro vento Capri".
The choice of theme photos.
Select a place where you feel comfortable. The space that surrounds you every day is usually friendly. When you appear in a new area, explore it first, feel it and just search for the frame.
If you are not sure your exposure settings, use the automatic and enjoy taking pictures.
… to be continued soon
